About

Pain may be part of your story, but it does not have to define your future.

Pain—whether emotional or physical—is a natural part of being human. It can be uncomfortable, disruptive, and at times debilitating. But pain that persists long after an injury has healed, or emotional distress that begins to feel entrenched, does not have to become a permanent part of your life. Our understanding of the brain and nervous system has grown tremendously, giving us new insight into why pain and emotional suffering can sometimes persist—and, importantly, new ways to address them. Drawing on attachment-based and emotion-focused therapy, neuroscience-informed psychoeducation, and evidence-based approaches to persistent pain and emotional distress, I help clients understand what is happening in their minds and bodies and develop a different relationship with their symptoms. I work with adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, interpersonal difficulties, and persistent physical symptoms such as chronic migraine, back pain, dizziness, and pelvic pain. Together, we work toward creating meaningful change—not simply learning to cope with symptoms, but understanding and addressing the processes that may be keeping them going.
